RE: Haskell network package fails to install on Windows

Windows 7; 
MSYS, & minGW installed, not sure if they are involved.

It seems that this "WindowsNT" response is standard:

" Windows NT (apparently stood for New Technology, but that's a rumor) is the 
kernel for Windows 7. Ever since XP, Windows NT has been used as the base for 
Microsoft Windows for home and business use. Before that MS-DOS (Microsoft Disk 
Operating System) was used for Home use (Windows ME, Windows 98,95) and Windows 
NT for business (Windows 2000 NT 4, NT 3.51, NT 3.5) Before THAT, MS-DOS was 
used on windows 1.x,2.x,3.x . DOS was dropped after ME as it wasn't as 
reliable, powerful or compatible as NT. 

Your computer still is Windows 7, but is referred to as NT 6.1 (Build No. 7600 
or 7601 depending on if you have the service pack or not.)"
