That's what I meant with my previous post. Until the API is stable enough, this 
should be a decent solution. There remains only the back porting of new eggs. 
But if someone needs that specific version so bad, they could probably get 
somehelp back porting the egg.

I wonder if it would make sense to tag the egg-repository on each
chicken release...
