This is probably a consequence of the bug I reported in the message
you could see at:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/chicken-users/2006-07/msg00417.html
I think your safest bet, in the meantime, would be using Chicken 2.3
(or you could apply the fix Felix sent in reply to my message; sadly,
there's no link to it in the above URL, due to Mhonarc's brokenage, so
you'd have to look it up in the archive for 2006-08).
svnwiki, for instance, is specifically know not to work with 2.41 for
this very reason.
