Is there any information hidden which i should know ?
I don't see any log of a failed install run. There are "comments"
but the link does not work for me.

Probably due to a change of autotools on my development machine.
1.4.0 was made by an old SuSE Linux. 1.4.2 by Debian 8.

During the release process i tested 1.4.2 on Debian 6, FreeBSD, Solaris,
and NetBSD. No problems were to see with "make install".
My knowledge about autotools is strictly heuristic, i fear.

Obviously your knowledge is better than mine. :)

How did you do that ?

I dimly remember that several Linux distros replace my autotools stuff
by their own local version.
So the problem might get hidden there.

My local version is
automake (GNU automake) 1.14.1

Here your knowledge exceeds mine by far.
I will try to learn more about "make install" and parallelization.
Nevertheless, if you can give me a quick tour for dummies or develop
tangible proposals what to change here, this might help a lot.
Have a nice day :)
