Hi Sam! :-)

1) Stockfish won't just work with XBoard. (It isn't an xboard engine).
Please look there: https://stockfishchess.org/download/
(You will need to use your own UCI-compatible chess program).

Try using Polyglot.
PS. I didn't succeed with it a while ago at Devuan, so I compiled Crafty.

2) Where Gpsshogi home page is???
I couldn't locate it (and I couldn't locate it at repositories either)!  :-(
