With the brand-new autoconf v2.66 the wget build process does not work any longer with error message: 

configure.ac:172: error: AC_CHECK_SIZEOF: requires literal arguments
../../lib/autoconf/types.m4:765: AC_CHECK_SIZEOF is expanded from...
configure.ac:172: the top level

line 172 in configure.ac contains:

AC_CHECK_SIZEOF(void *)
