You need to get some basic knowledge of the operating system and the C
compiler.  This mailing list is not the place for that.  This mailing
list is for discussion of the text utilities, which is a far cry from
what you are asking about.

My best suggestion is to read a book which is an introduction to the
unix operating system.  There are many good books available.  In my
personal opinion the ones from O'Reilly publishing are usually quite
good for this.  Your library will also have good references.
