Hi folks,

traditionally ed(1) was *the* reference for sed and others
as well. Today the man page just lists some ed command line
options, urging the reader to use info.

Sorry to say, but "info ed" is no replacement. The layout in
separate pages and the request to "navigate" the document
somehow is a distraction.

The German language has a verb "querlesen", meaning to glance
quickly over a document to find the part you are interested in.
Experience is an important part of this. Due to the standardized
layout and full access to the whole document without navigating
and jumping cursors you can "querlesen" man pages with 20 or more
lines per second.

Maybe its just me, but info made this approach impossible.

Regards
Harri
