Subject: | tar ignores --user and --group parameter with root user |
Date: | Fri, 30 Apr 2021 09:00:29 +0000 |
Dear bug report team, I think I have noticed a bug within tar 1.26 Rel 35.el7 the man page of tar tells us, that -p, --preserve-permissions extract information about file permissions (default for superuser) It seems that the default for superuser is stronger than the parameter --user=soa --group=soa But I don't think that the parameters should be ignored, if provided, even by root?!
