Glibc is stored in git.  So it is true that using git is required
for working closely with the glibc team.  What Alfred wrote is not
entirely correct.

However, it is possible to work on glibc quite a bit, and debug even
complex bugs, without knowing anything about git except how to do a
checkout.

I want to keep it that way.
