Yeah, or well, to be precise, ELPA's automatic doesn't care about that -
it just runs an update whenever we push a new commit with a different
Version: section in the package header. It can be anything, really, so
the minor number is just incidental here. I'm not sure if it requires a
git tag to be created but I think it works just by updating the Version
header.
With rec-mode I'm following semantic versioning[0] with it, so this
particular scenario bump the patch version (major.minor.patch) since
it's a bugfix. New features increase minor and breaking changes increase
major, and so on.
