[bug-recutils] issues running on macos

Trying to run recutils on macOS 10.13.  I've had no issues running for 
years with previous versions of macOS/OS X, but now when I run any of 
the recutils programs, I get "Illegal instruction: 4".

recutils was installed via homebrew. I reinstalled a few times and even 
installed from source - same issue each time.  Any ideas?  It sounds 
like the error has something to do with xcode versions and SDKs, etc., 
but I'm not knowledgeable enough about that stuff.  homebrew, macos, and 
xcode are fully updated...
