More about writability? I know the recins command will take care of adding line returns with the "+" delimiter (and recsel will likewise return fields without them).

I'm more likely to be modifying recfiles directly in a text editor though, and block delimiters woould make it both more readable and writable.

Hmm, is it about readability?  The recutils can give you the contents of
mult-line fields with the new-line marks removed.
