I thought about this. Other gnus software such as GNU emacs does not
require to run ldconfig after the installation is finished.
I'm not sure about Emacs, but almost all GNU programs I have ever installed, one
needs to run ldconfig after installation (assuming one does not install in
/usr/lib).
And with good reason too: Putting say /usr/local/lib in the default runtime
path
can upset a lot of the default utilities on the system. So doing it
automatically
is not a good idea IMO.
