Details:

Several utilities repeat the description of the selection option list (I'm not
even sure how many without researching again, but at least four).  This seems
bad for all the usual reasons.  I strongly suggest giving the list once, in
recsel, and pointing to it in all the other utilities.  Much easier to
understand, not to mention maintain.
