No, the tests fail as well.

Btw, I am using the official Xcode developer tools package
which is included with every Mac and brings GCC with it.

I noticed 2 lines in the ./configure output:

  checking for ld used by GCC...
/usr/libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin10/4.2.1/ld
  checking if the linker (/usr/libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin10/4.2.1/ld)
is GNU ld... no

Maybe it has nothing to do with it,
but it grabbed my attention...
