I've noticed that a simple AC_CHECK_LIB(readline, readline) is not
sufficient for configure.ac to get support for readline.
Different projects go to different lengths to determine if readline is
available and what extra libraries might be needed.
How about coming up with a "recommended" configure.ac fragment and
including that in the readline distribution?
