Output from parted when I try to use "-s" with the mklabel command
==================================================================
Note: This may not matter, but my disk starts of with a partition table
format that is not recognized by parted.
The output if I use "-s":
~ # parted -s /dev/hda mklabel yes msdos
Warning: The existing disk label on /dev/hda will be destroyed and
all data on this disk wi
ll be lost. Do you want to continue?
Backtrace has 2 calls on stack:
2: /lib/libparted-1.8.so.0(ped_assert+0x6c) [0x2ab11e98]
1: parted [0x411d44]
*** glibc detected *** parted: munmap_chunk(): invalid pointer:
0x00463cc0 ***
Aborted
If I don't use "-s":
~ # parted /dev/hda mklabel yes msdos
Warning: The existing disk label on /dev/hda will be destroyed and
all data on
this disk will be lost. Do you want to continue?
Information: Don't forget to update /etc/fstab, if necessary.
And the version:
~ # parted -v
GNU Parted 1.8.1
