Debian Sarge Parted v1.6.21 bug

Assertion ((C * heads + H) * sectors + S == A)
at ../../libparted/disk_dos.c:586 in function probe_partition_for_geom()
failed.


I get this error from a new USB thumb drive from Astone, 512MB. If I run
fdisk on the device and clear all partition tables with the 'o' command,
parted works fine. It seems this batch of sticks we have can all cause
this problem. I have a gzipped dd of the entire stick that
causes the error, partition tables and all, but was unable to email it through.
