Just started learning Linux and attempted to "parted" by CD in my Aopen
DVD+RW/+R "cdrecorder" and got the following message:
address@hidden ~]# /sbin/parted /dev/hdd print
Warning: Unable to open /dev/hdd read-write (Read-only file system).
/dev/hdd
has been opened read-only.
You found a bug in GNU Parted. Please email a bug report to
address@hidden <mailto:address@hidden> containing the version
(1.6.15), and the following message:
The sector size on /dev/hdd is 2048 bytes. Parted is known not to work
properly
with drives with sector sizes other than 512 bytes
Ignore/Cancel? c
Warning: Unable to open /dev/hdd read-write (Read-only file system).
/dev/hdd
has been opened read-only.
Error: Unable to open /dev/hdd - unrecognised disk label.
Information: Don't forget to update /etc/fstab, if necessary.
Is this a real bug that should be reported?
