Parted knows how to detect unclean ext2.  There was a bug.

WRT FAT, we don't know, and it's still on the TODO.

Indeed.  Bug in pipermail/mailman, I guess.  Nothing I can do
about it (except complain to the mail.gnu.org maintainers).
Not exactly important.
