This is wrong.  It should read:

+       return (I2O_MAJOR1 >= major && major <= I2O_MAJOR8);

At the same time, I am going to promote my `make patches even more
readable and use `-p' with diff campaign'.  Really, it is great;  diff
figures out what function each hunk comes from.
