by the way - that's kind of old, before I made fixes to tic to fix
a bug in forward-reference to user-defined capabilities.
I've only OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, which has its ups and downs,
but its version of ncurses is "current":
libncurses5-6.5.20241214-51.1.x86_64
libncurses6-6.5.20241214-51.1.x86_64
ncurses-devel-6.5.20241214-51.1.x86_64
ncurses-examples-6.5.20241214-51.1.x86_64
