Hi Everyone

Thanks to Thomas, I have things working right now.

I just ordered an used copy of the O'Reily Termcap/Terminfo book. I 
still don't really know how to edit a terminal database properly but I 
was able to figure out enough to get the job done.

Following the link, to Invisible-Island, I found the xterm-1006 entry. 
It's very short. I used infocmp to generate source from xterm-256color 
that was already installed. xterm-1006 is pretty much just two lines 
and  "header". I appended the two lines to my xterm-256color and renamed 
the header and file name.

I made a  ~/.terminfo directory.

I compiled with sudo tic -xv xterm-gnucobol -o /home/patrick/.terminfo/

I think I might have needed sudo even in my home directory due to a 
another terminal database being read but I honestly can't remember now, 
try it without first. I can post back again in a couple of weeks when I 
have read more and actually know what I am doing...
