Hi Thomas,

ok, thanks.

Maybe this is a good moment to ask if you use any of the multi-distro release tools,
such as OBS, fpm or something else that is more suited for the purpose.
Since ncurses is one of the most omni-present packages across linux/unix variants,
it makes much sense to adopt the same methodology for others, too.

Also, I just now recall that I was forced, some time ago, to comment out a line
under the `darwin)` section in configure, otherwise builds would fail on my end:
https://github.com/hpcugent/easybuild-easyconfigs/blob/master/easybuild/easyconfigs/n/ncurses/ncurses-5.9_configure_darwin.patch

Here is the pointer with the why of this, ie. compilers such as GCC/4.6.3 and onwards are affected:
https://github.com/hpcugent/easybuild-easyconfigs/blob/master/easybuild/easyconfigs/n/ncurses/ncurses-5.9-GCC-4.8.2.eb

I have the impression that this should actually be a permanent code fix,
however I have no means to approve/disprove the claim; is there a test case that would save the day here?

tia,
F.

I intend doing that once I've ironed out some remaining packaging bugs.
(Packagers don't use my test-packages, but it's a good practice to ensure
that they don't have problems doing similar packages).

For discussion purposes, the next release's configure-script defaults
are the ones I'm using for those packages...
