Maybe this is a good moment to ask if you use any of the multi-distro release tools,
such as OBS, fpm or something else that is more suited for the purpose.
Since ncurses is one of the most omni-present packages across linux/unix variants,
it makes much sense to adopt the same methodology for others, too.
Also, I just now recall that I was forced, some time ago, to comment out a line
under the `darwin)` section in configure, otherwise builds would fail on my end:
Here is the pointer with the why of this, ie. compilers such as GCC/4.6.3 and onwards are affected:
I have the impression that this should actually be a permanent code fix,
however I have no means to approve/disprove the claim; is there a test case that would save the day here?
