Installation for embedded systems

I would like to know whether I should install this program. I have a
make file called menuconfig which won't run.  It complains that it can't
find curses.h and other files with the "ncurses" name. Since I'm running
on a Fedora 18 system, I assumed that the ncurses libraries had been
installed by Gnome. Can you expain whether I'm on the right track? I
have attached the output file showing the errors.
