agreed (terminfo).  And since my TERMINFO_DIRS is set, I generally don't see
those changes in my environment, since I have (see below) installed terminfo in
/usr/local.

A few packagers (OpenSUSE comes to mind) make changes, and when I notice them,
may incorporate them.

What I build for myself is exactly what I upload with my weekly patches.

I leave the "system" curses alone generally, and install into /usr/local
(normal, wide, wide with ABI6, and threaded).  Different platforms have
different features (hashed database and termcap support differ for instance).
