        + modify test/ditto.c to illustrate multi-threaded use_screen().
        + change CC_SHARED_OPTS from -KPIC to -xcode=pic32 for Solaris.
        + add "-shared" option to MK_SHARED_LIB for gcc on Solaris (report
          by Poor Yorick).
