case insensitive file systems

Dear Thomas,

Apple has a patch to deal with case-insensitivity of their default fs at
http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/Current/ncurses-21/patches/hex.diff

Is there such problem in Windows environment?
May be that patch can be incorporated into ncurses (as a compile-time option)?

After all, Apple seems to be the major distributor of ncurses now :)
