Dear Thomas,
in my system (Mac OS X) there is a symlink to libncurses dynamic library called libtermcap (in /usr/lib, system location)._Replacing_ the system's shared libraries can be awkward - I can't give much advice on Max OS X...
Oh no, I was just thinking of "overshadowing" them in macports
packaging system, so that programs installed through it will use
the libraries, provided by the package and not system libraries.
