yes (now that you remind me, I recall that this is like rpath, but
unlike - cannot have multiple install-name's).

I suggest changing the configure error message
"This is not libtool" to "This is not GNU libtool".

oh - what does Apple libtool say for --version?

Since Apple libtool, while being a good libtool,
has options different from GNU libtool,
the present message is misleading.
Also, please, state clearly in the INSTALL file
that ncurses wants GNU libtool, not just some libtool.
