I'd suggest to build ncurses without libiconv first to see that the development environment is setup properly.I understand, but how to do it? I do not see such option in ncurses "configure". And my gcc binary (4.1.0) depends on libiconv (according to chatr)...
ouch. I understand generally what you're saying, but havent encountered this problem myself. I don't recall if chatr can provide details on the versions (only that it displays or sets path information). Aside from some work with HPUX 9 (where it was rather fragile), I haven't used gcc on HPUX.
I am asking here for a case if somebody have met the same situation...
that's possible, but I don't recall many people discussing HPUX -- Thomas E. Dickey http://invisible-island.net ftp://invisible-island.net
