Hi Thomas,
  I have been hacking on docliter to convert ncurses man pages to sgml. I
have succeded to a large extent.
  I put all the sgml files in an easy to use package form and wrote
two scripts. The whole documentation can be downloaded from

http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~ppadala/ncdoc/ncdoc.tar.gz

It contains
   |----> NCURSES-Programming-HOWTO.sgml
   |----> ncurses-intro.sgml
   |----> compile-all
   | A script to generate html documentation from sgml source
   |----> index.sgml
   | The top level sgml file
   |----> ncurses_programs/
   | Programs required by the HOWTO. They are required to compile
   |        the HOWTO.
   |----> compile-sgml
   | A script to compile sgml source into various formats
   |----> ldp.dsl
   |        ldp style-sheet
   |----> hackguide.sgml
   |----> man/
   | sgml source for man pages
   |----> html/
   |        Generated html goes here

  The directory html contains the generated documentation. I haven't
generated man pages from sgml as yet. It can be done very easily with
docbook tools.
  I have a question. Do you want to maintain all the man pages in sgml format
only? If yes, then I will proceed and generate sgml with correct
substitutions. In effect, MkTerminfo.sh will generate sgml instead of man page.
Also, We have to generate sgml for the Ada stuff. I have been working towards
converting whole ncurses documentation into sgml. I would like to the sgml
stuff.

   The converted documentation can be browsed at
http://www.cise.ufl.edu/~ppadala/ncdoc/html

Cheers !!!
