It turned out to be due to glibc(2.2.3-6 of Rawhide - Red Hat's
developmental distribution), and I could succeed to apply
patch-5.2-20010512.sh after updating glibc-2.2.3-10 of latest Rawhide.
So, I guess there would be no problem with glibc-2.2.2 of Red Hat 7.1 in
this point.
