Ooops. You are right. I had forgotten that pine does not use ncurses.
But nevertheless pine shows the same symptom I am experiencing. BTW
I tried to use wnoutrefresh(win) and doupdate() but there was no
improvement. Strange though that windows which are not touched end
up being refreshed this the same. This happens both in the Linux console
and under an xterm.
