Details:

When processing the EXISTS response, IMAIL tries to fetch the UIDs and flags
of the new messages.  If the most recent message, before the new messages, was
expunged, however, IMAIL will fetch a range of sequence numbers that does not
exist, because it has not yet recorded that the recent message was expunged.

What a pain the IMAP is!
