Speaking for myself, it doesn't give me any clues.  I don't see why it
should matter.  But there seem to be a lot of complexities around
cygwin and its support for complex POSIX concepts, so I can't say for
sure.  Maybe someone more familiar with how Cygwin emulates mkfifo()
might have some insights.
