Follow-up Comment #1:
I've had discussions before with the GNU web site folks about doing this. I'd
prefer to have some "official" way of handling it that's supported by the GNU
infrastructure: most of the web site is all boilerplate stuff that's used by
all the GNU packages.
For the example of autoconf, although those manuals are available I can't find
any way of accessing them via links from the autoconf website! Old versions
are not so useful if no one can find them.
I'll ask again to see if any progress has been made on this front.
