Update of bug #46585 (project make): Item Group: Bug => Enhancement _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comment #2: This is the way GNU make has always worked. It's not clear from the POSIX spec whether this behavior is allowed. I'll leave this open as an enhancement request until we can determine if POSIX requires the original environment variable to be passed through to the sub-command.
