Ok.
Mailutils comes with its own IMAP server. Granted it may not be the fastest
server in the west, but it seems to work well even heavy load. Now,
unfortunately I do not have any empirical numbers to back this up.
So the questions are:
- What is dovecot bringing that we do not?
- If dovecot already exists, why do you want to re-implement it?
