Hi,
I use mailutils 20020409-1 from Debian unstable. Together with exim4
Exim version 4.24 #1 built 05-Nov-2003 13:28:28.
1. mail.local comes without sticky bit in Debian. Is it normal? I failed
to make it working without setting
chmod u+s /usr/lib/mailutils/mail.local
AFAI understood, exim4 is running from mail user, so mail.local is
started from this user also. Then it tries to become another user.
Without sticky bit I got following error message in /var/log/mail.err:
mail.local[17300]: setreuid(0, 1000): Operation not permitted (r=1000,
e=1000)
With sticky bit everything works O.K., but unsecure.
2. The mailbox becomes corrupted over a time. What can be the reason? Is
it wrong configuration or a bug?
I configured mail.local, so that it delivers mail to /var/mail/<user>
mailbox. I use imap4d to access my mailbox (sometimes I access my
mailbox simultaneously from two machines).
I think both of mail.local and imap4d do locking, but it seems to be not
working.
