What are you expecting from this?  You asked why we don't keep generated
files in CVS, and I answered.  You haven't offered an alternative
solution.

We'd love to have you using and working on mailutils - but to do more
than send casual patches in against the most recent release, you need
the latest autotools.  If what you're looking for is up to date woody
packages, Jordi and I would probably love to provide them (at least for
i386 or sparc.  I don't have a woody development environment setup for
anything else at the moment).  If you want 'make release' run and posted
to an ftp site on, say, a weekly basis - I already mentioned I was
willing to do that and you haven't taken me up on it.
