+1, for me.
I no longer have access to K&R C Compiler to keep this alive and tested.
My last one was an old SunOS box, RIP.

Is not that a little to early, folks still using gcc-2.9x
But I hardly could come up with a good example were c99 constructs
could be of any advantages.
