The Single Unix Specification, version 2, seems to require mailx to be
present. It's listed in the "Commands and Utilities" index in the HTML copy of
SUSv2 that I have.

SUSv3 is out now. I don't have a copy of that, but I doubt that they would
remove mailx from it.
