Ok, my shell was conveniently "remembering" that it saw a mail in
/usr/local/bin once upon a time, and ignoring the fact that I have . in my
PATH before /usr/local/bin, thus I got the last mail I installed.

mail runs, but core dumps... that's probably my changes in mailbox.
