Basically it does over mailboxes the same job that awk does over
plaintext files.
However, the patch deals mainly with mail utility. The
completion_matches function is indeed deprecated since readline-4.2,
but older versions of readline do not declare its rl_ counterpart.
So, I've added an extra AC_CHECK_FUNCS to the configure.in to
handle this.
