Ok, I have CVS_RSG=ssh in my env, and I did:

cvs -d :ext:address@hidden:/cvsroot/mailutils/ co -P mailutils

I get no error messages, and I get the new stuff.

Then I cd into mailutils, and do:

cvs update -P -d

The -d causes the error message, if I remove it, all seems to be well,
but I'm suspicious, I've never had a problem using -P and -d together
before, as defaults in my .cvsrc, the make sense even, if somebody
adds a new directory, I want it, and if a directory doesn't have any
files in it after update, prune it.

Anyhow, symptom gone.

Sam
