Thanks for the report.  Can you please provide more details, such as
what platform this was run on?

This particular test comes from gnulib; but the m4 1.4.16 release uses a
rather old version of gnulib (I've been meaning to find time to release
m4 1.4.17 for newer gnulib, which may fix your issue already).  But
without knowing your system, I don't know if that particular failure is
known.
