Hi,
I am forwarding this bug report here:

TL;DR: On systems using the mksh shell, building lilypond from source
fails with an error like
ERROR: Please install required programs: /usr/bin/fontforge >= 20110222
(installed: 20230101)
This is because of some non-portable code in aclocal.m4.
