Just a brief follow-up. If this trick:
cadenzaMeasure = {
\cadenzaOff
\partial 1024 s1024
\cadenzaOn
}
... is used, the rests don't get duplicated but then the MMRest is not created,
but rather the single measure rests are printed out in multiple measures.
